March 21st Prayer Requests

March 16, 2010

For a friend who may be getting Alzheimer’s disease.

For a Parishioner’s family as they grieve for the death of their mother.

For my mother who appreciates any prayers always, please bless her.

For my friend on her birthday, March 14th.

For a special friend who is experiencing a conversion back to the Catholic faith, and another friend who is considering converting to the Catholic faith.

May St. Joseph Parishioners appreciate the redemptive sacrifice of Christ at each Holy Mass.

May the Priests of St. Joseph sanctify St. Joseph Parishioners through their ministry.

For a group member to find employment.

For a friend of one of our group members who is ill.

For the repose of the soul of the husband of a women who use to work with one of our group members.

For the Lord and his angels to watch over our children.

Please bless our livelihood, Lord.

Scott – vocation.

Irene – health.

Tom – brain cancer.

Natasha – cancer.

Christine & Doug – facing divorce due to alcohol abuse.

Irene – Kidney transplant.

Scott – vocation.

Jenny – college.

David – pray for his lack of faith and belief in life, death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Jeff – that he will come back to the Catholic faith.

March 7th Prayer Requests

March 5, 2010

For a father’s healing.

For all of the souls in Purgatory.

Thankfulness for dramatic improvements and prayers for continued healing of a daughter.

For a deceased brother that he knows he is always in our hearts and prayers.

For St. Joseph parishioners that we may see an increase in attendance at Holy Mass and appreciation of its many graces.

That the offering of Holy Mass and the Eucharist by our priests may open the hearts and minds of the parishioners of St. Joseph to bring them closer to Christ and eternal life.

Thankfulness for our priests and their gifts of love, time, dedication and sacrifice may we always appreciate and pray for them.

That the work of Small Faith Groups at St. Joseph enlighten all participants, and strengthen their faith and the bonds of unity between them.

The unemployed/underemployed; so they may find work that is fulfilling and satisfying and that God will give them the strength they need during this time.

For the people attending CHRP weekends; so their faith is rekindled and their love rejuvenated.

For those who are sick and seeking healing; so that God gives them strength and leads them to understand His Will.

For the people of Haiti; that they continue their strong faith and give God and others here on earth the chance to assist them.

For our parish; that it stays strong and continues to bring people either closer to God or helps them return to God, our Father.

For health and happiness, those in extreme winter weather, for our moms, people in Haiti, liver transplants, members of the group and thanksgiving for cancer remission.

For passage of our pro-life legislation in Nebraska.

For God’s anointing of all our work so that it may be used for His glory.

For guidance in an important decision this week.

That family members that have fallen away be reunited with their Catholic faith.

That our prayer lives stay strong and are continually renewed.

For deceased godparents who are dearly missed and special in my heart, may they always be with me.  Sincerest thankfulness for their gift of my first rosary.

Help St. Joseph Parishioners to see the Holy Mass as the greatest prayer.  May we hear and contemplate the Mass fully and with great care each attendance.

Help St. Joseph Parishioners to want to learn more about the Saints so we can discover and imitate their virtues.

For a friend who suffers from mesotheleoma, in a desperate situation.

For my father, who suffered a heart attack this week.

For our families.

For my wife to have a successful hip replacement surgery.

A son who is recently engaged to a non-Christian girl.

For teens who are lost, depressed and feel unloved from their families and friends.

Natasha who has lung cancer with metastisis to bone and brain.

Families who are struggling with financial problems that they feel God’s presence in their lives.

For those who are unemployed or underemployed.

February 28th Prayer Requests

March 1, 2010

That the Holy Spirit will come and overshadow our group so that our faith is renewed and that we may fulfill the task we’ve been given.
Illness of spouse, children, grandchildren – pray for healing and strength to cope.

Rick – Just diagnosed with lung cancer and heart blockages
Natasha – has lung cancer
Irene – kidney transplant
A couple who are having financial and marital problems, that they may put their trust in God.

For all our friends and family that have left the Catholic Church, that they will listen to the Lord’s call and return to the true faith.

For a son, that he will find a job that will allow him to adequately support his family.
For a friend who is dying of cancer.
For a relative addicted to alcohol.
For a young woman afflicted with a rare disease, had 3 major surgeries and had given up on further treatments. May the Holy Spirit give her the wisdom and renewed courage to seek and find alternative treatment for her disease.

The people who wanted to join a small faith group and study the Eucharist but just didn’t sign up. Maybe just a little nudge of encouragement or an invitation from someone would have helped them make the commitment. We will pray for them during the season of Lent that the Eucharist will become more meaningful to them.
